Neko Days
Tasked with creating a marketable object for our local art museum, I created the "Neko Days" calendar—designed for cat lovers and admirers of Japanese woodblock prints. Unlike typical calendars in which one must cross through the days with a pen, this interactive calendar provides the tactile experience of cutting and tearing the square of each day, uncovering a new illustration each time.
The calendar features the playful and comical cat illustrations of Utagawa Kuniyoshi, one of the great masters of Japanese woodblock prints from the Ukiyo-e period. Users will enjoy the unique experience of engaging with a new cat artwork each month.
